Mr. Paul is responsible for defining and executing the OpenBook vision. He has a proven track record, and has raised over $4 million in angel funding for this new startup. Zack knows what it takes to build, launch, and drive new businesses, and has particular experience in vertical-focused technology and services. His vision for OpenBook as an end-to-end software and services outsourcing firm for independent hotel owners began shortly after he bought and began managing his all-season resort property in Island Park, ID.
Prior to OpenBook, Zack was VP and Director of New Business development at two of Bell and Howell's software divisions: 1) Motorcycleworld.com, a $32 million software venture, and 2) Lightspeed Motorcycle Dealer Management Systems, which commands over 80% market share. He introduced and drove market acceptance of these innovative technology systems, which became the standard in the very complex motorcycle industry, and now hold overwhelming market share.
Also the owner of a hotel-resort in Island Park, Idaho, Mr. Paul has experienced, first-hand, the challenges of managing a hotel and is prepared to create and market a software solution for this industry.
Mr. Chapman was the Director of Product Development for Bell & Howell, managing over 100 software developers, creating revenue and inventory management services for 26 automobile manufacturers worldwide. He also was the CTO for Motorcycleworld.com, managing over $32 million allocated to all development, IT and site hosting. He is familiar with more than 15 coding languages and operating systems and has received several awards for technology innovation.
